My Bed Is So High Up
02:32

It rained and you spoke like I wasn't there
I sang and it floats as i head up the stairs
One minute honey, I need to get something in me
It's been awhile
When my fingers met my seat
I told myself i'd try to rake my eyes from my feet
And you saw but you didn't say,
You didn't say anything
Later in sheets I was a little stoned
And I listened to the windows shake and branches moan
And I wondered just where the hell you had gone
But i picked myself up and I put my head down
Ooh

A Case of You
03:25
|

Just before our love got lost you said,
I am as constant as a northern star, and I said,
Constant in the darkness, where's that at
If you want me I'll be in the bar.
On the back of cartoon coaster
In the blue TV screen light:
I drew a map of Canada
Oh Canada
With your face sketched on it twice.
Oh you're in my blood like holy wine,
You taste so bitter and so sweet.
Oh I could drink a case of you darling.
And I would still be on my feet
Oh I would still be on my feet.
I am lonely painter
I live in a box of paints
I'm frightened by the devil
And am drawn to those ones that ain't afraid
Remember that time you told me love was touching souls?
Well surely you've touched mine 'cause part of you pours
Out of me in these lines from time to time
Oh you're in my blood like holy wine
You taste so bitter and so sweet
Oh I could drink a case of you darling.
And I would still be on my feet
Oh I would still be on my feet.

There Were Many Places
05:03
|

With my eyes on my fingertips
I never saw you clear
And out by the bus stop
Near your house and far away
You wouldn't say a thing
They were laughing there
We lost no money on the wine
Finally a smile
There was more smoking
And it rained and rained
For the duration of the evening
Oh well oh well,
I’ve been singing.
With my head on my hands
After our wallet’s much too heavy
When the light turned green and the cab driver didn’t see
I didn’t say a thing
I’ll fall asleep with the fan turned on
It drowns out the cats in heat
You’ll fall asleep on your best friends floor
On a pile of clothes in a heap
There was more drinking
Now you’re speaking to me
Suddenly I can’t breathe
Oh well oh well,
I’ve been singing.
Oh, it’s no one’s fault.
